Today is Julia Child’s birthday. A lot of people are making a point of cooking her recipes tonight. (That or re-living Woodstock!) I’m working on a writing deadline instead.
But I thought I’d at least take a look through my old (~40 yrs) copies of Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The first volume is missing its paper cover, that disintegrated ages ago. The pages for onion soup, hollandaise sauce, and pretty much anything with lamb are frayed and stained. Thank you Julia!
That is awesome. With the food we got at Merritt lane I know why the lamb pages are torn up.
Folks, that is my nephew reminiscing about dinners at my father’s house, which we sometimes referred to as The Rocky Hilton!
