Encore Please! – Princeton HealthCare System’s October 21 Introduction to Korean Cuisine demonstration and tasting is fully subscribed, and at $10 per person, no surprise there! BUT, if enough people ask, they’ll schedule an encore presentation. (Call 609.897.8980 to get on the waitlist for that.) This event, and many others hosted by PHCS, is dedicated to promoting healthier eating habits among people of all cultures.
Introduction to Korean Cuisine is hosted by the Women’s Club of the Korean Community Center of Greater Princeton, and takes place at the PHCS Fitness & Wellness Center on Route 206. I’ll also be writing about Korean food for the Packet issue of November 6. This being Princeton, of course we have a talented chef/author in our midst, Sue K. Choo, who has a cookbook coming out, and whose recipes will be featured at the event and in my column.
October 22 – On the Bone restaurant hosts a complimentary vodka tasting, 5:00-8:00pm. The event will include samples of premium vodkas from the classics such as Belvedere and Gray Goose to new brands such Saaga from Estonia, Ciroc made from grape, Exclusive from Russia and Pravda from Poland.. Guests will be given a brief tutorial on each vodka by their bartender during the tasting. Martinis will also be offered a reduced price. Aren’t the ones pictured here gorgeous?
On the Bone is the steakhouse attached to the Doubletree hotel at Rte. 1 and Ridge Road. I recently reviewed them, and am a fan because I agree with them that meat is better served on the bone. Their website (watch out for loud music! – the mute button is at the very bottom right) is www.ontheboneprinceton.com.
