I Remember

Like countless others, I remember how this day felt ten years ago.  It came at a time of many personal trials, which maybe, in an odd way, allowed me to add it to my burden in an easier or more accomodating way than may have been possible otherwise.  At work on the University campus, we watched the events unfold on a big screen in an auditorium, and tended to those with family and friends in the city, as they anxiously awaited word from them.

My most poignant memory was of driving home that night, and noticing the lonely cars in the parking lots at the Princeton Junction train station, some surely waiting for owners who would never come.  Peace.
