Put on by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, the Chowderfest Committee has worked to bring families, connoisseurs and the curious to Beach Haven to experience a shore festival at its best.
To kick off the weekend, Chowderfest will honor a true champion by renaming the site of Chowderfest, the Taylor Avenue Ball Field, after long time Chowderfest Chairman and Past Chamber President Frank Panzone, who passed away last year. On Saturday October 5, with free admission, visit the Merchandise Mart, with almost 100 specialty vendors will sell their wares at season blow out prices, deep discounts and one of a kind items will be offered 10am through 4pm. Live entertainment, costumed characters, clowns and face painting, as well as music from Hawkins Road Band. Chowderwear merchandise, and tickets for October 6 cook off will be available for sale. Beer, local gourmet food tent and shopping galore all day, promised something for everyone.
On Sunday October 6 (paid admission), Chowderfest shows its pride that the Superbowl is happening in the Garden State!, by SOUPER sizing this years event for its silver anniversary, as ticket holders vote for RED and WHITE Grand Champions.
