Farmers Markets Prepare To Open

It’s that wonderful time of year when our local farmers markets prepare to open.

The West Windsor Community Farmers Market (WWCFM) starts its 11th season on May 3rd; it runs through to November 22 (rain or shine!), on Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm.

A new market at Forrestal Village debuts on June 6, on the plaza outside of Tre Piani.  Princeton Forrestal Village (PFV) has announced its roster for their Farm Fresh Friday Market, which will be held every Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm beginning June 6 and running through the end of September.

And the Montgomery Friends Farmers Market in Skillman (across from ShopRite on 206), opens on Saturday June 7; they’ll be open 9:00am to 1:00pm, through October 25.

For information on other area markets, farms, and CSAs, be sure to check the Slow Food Central New Jersey page here.

  1. Faith, how I wish there had been this wealth of Farmers’ Markets when I was raising my girls in Princeton. (1970’s) We had our own healthy, non-chemical, bovung-enriched garden in our yard, and the wealth of the Trenton Farmers’ Market, and that was it. My gardeners were ashamed of me because I would get my hands (so joyously!) in the dirt. But we were healthy, and o — nothing has ever equaled those backyard tomatoes. Now, it’s not only vegetables — it’s VIking Fisheries and home-made cheeses and hearty breads that go back to ancient times, even in winter at Slow Food’s indoor markets around here. Thanks for the schedule. I’ll post it and use it. And wish, with all my heart, I could take Diane and Cathy to every one.

    best!
