Here’s the scoop on the last two Slow Food Central New Jersey’s “Eat Slow” Winter Farmers Markets. And if you’re afraid you might have “market withdrawal” after March 14, take heart – the West Windsor Community Farmers Market opens up for the summer season on May 2!
In collaboration with the organizers of the West Windsor Community Farmers Market, the remaining two of five Slow Food Central New Jersey indoor winter markets will be held on Sunday, March 1 at Tre Piani Restaurant in the Forrestal Village in Princeton from 10:00-2:00, and Saturday, March 14 at D&R Greenway LandTrust’s Johnson Education Center in Princeton from 10:00-2:00.
These popular markets connect consumers directly with their farmers and local producers in lovely, warm indoor settings. Join us for a wide array of locally grown and produced foods including hard to find winter produce, cheese, wine, mushrooms, grass-fed beef, lamb, poultry, pastured eggs, breads and baked goods, jams, pickles, honey, and much more.
$3 suggested donation to benefit the Central New Jersey chapter of Slow Food. Parking is free in both locations.

Slow Food USA is working to change the food system through a network of volunteer chapters all over the country. The Central Jersey chapter holds education and awareness events such as potlucks, off-season farmers markets, trainings and workshops. These farmers markets spread awareness and allow folks to enjoy locally grown and healthful foods while helping to support local farms and food artisans throughout the winter months.

Faith, it’s just grand, your loyalty to these indoor winter farm markets — I don’t want to miss any. Maybe I’ll see you there, at Tre Piani? That’s like being in Europe to me — one can even sit at a table and have a glass of Prosecco before perusing the marvelous produce. My lettuce in a pot, from Terhune’s, from the last one at D&R Greenway, is still bountifully producing — and it smells divine when I tear off the live leaves for each night’s salad. This time I’m going on a cheese and bread prowl. What’s YOUR favorite?
