February’s Best Bites
Once a year, I get to use the brevity of February as my excuse for a late posting of Best Bites (and Recipe of the Month, which I just posted). Then it’s back to “no good reason at all.”
So, for February, a month short on days but long on good tastes, I’m not going to go into details here, except to say that the fabulous veal breast at the Homestead Inn gave rise to my March In The Kitchen column on roast meats that will appear in the Packet this month.
- Vidalia cannelloni
- BBQ leftover prime ribs
- Eggy pizza at Nomad
- Cured meats at Nomad
- Merguez (lamb sausage) over barley risotto
- Breakfast for dinner
- Heaven at Homestead Inn
- Ham & cheese croissant
- Leftover Homestead pasta, peas added by me
- Herisah
- Date nut bread
- Prime steak dinner
- FreshDirect pot pie (just okay)
- Fish sticks (also just okay)
- Chicken on stale bread
- Masala Salmon
- Seedy wheat croissant
Where did you get the date-nut bread?

A good friend makes it for Christmas every year, a family recipe. I sometimes freeze it to enjoy later.
