Asian Marinara?

Green curry seafoodThe package of frozen seafood I bought at an Asian supermarket claimed to be “Marinara Mix,”  and contained cooked mussels, squid, cuttlefish, octopus, clam, and shrimp, plus some of that “krab” stuff.  It was, I believe, from Thailand (forgot to look), and everything but the name seemed to be aimed at the Asian market.

Why they thought they needed to call it marinara, I’m not sure, but I chuckled, thinking of Asians all over the world trying their hand at some Italian cuisine for a change (actually, not so far-fetched).

But I had other things on my mind, and tossed the seafood into Thai green curry sauce the other night. adding some nice, big shrimp (Wegmans wild caught).

A little sticky rice and chopped cilantro, a squirt of lime juice, and…Mangia!
