I took my niece out for a belated birthday dinner at Elements last week, and we had a great time.
This is the local/NJ tilefish I ordered, it came with wild boar sausgage, plump porcini mushrooms, fennel, cherry, and all sorts of other little touches that make every meal here so special.
Everything was so delicious, but what I really want to tell you about is their Farm to Fork series, which runs Mondays through Thursdays, July 5-Sept. 1. Each week Chef/Owner Scott Andersen will put together a special menu from local farms, 3 courses for $39.
The place was packed by the time I left last Thursday, and the series hadn’t even started yet, so be sure to make a resevation. If you have not tried Elements yet, I urge you to do so; what comes out of Scott’s kitchen is truly exceptional, as is the gracious staff. (And that tiny bar where Mattias Hägglund presides – it was hopping, with people hanging out three-deep!)
(Somehow I left without my doggie bag – boo hoo! I think it was waiting at the door for me, but I completely forgot until I got home!)
