I’d picked up these bars on a visit to Fatty Crab in New York. I loved my sloppy, spicy dinner there, and couldn’t resist these “souvenirs” of my visit.
Shown is the milk chocolate with crisped rice, puffed rice, and ginger. There was also a dark chocolate packed with almonds, aleppo chili pepper, and Maldon sea salt – my favorite sea salt, by the way.
I much prefer dark chocolate to milk, but make a point of trying milk occasionally, trying to keep an open mind. Over the years, I have found that milk goes especially well with certain flavors/preparations. A marjolaine (multi-layered nut meringue) topped with pistachio ice cream, and milk chocolate sauce in Cape May many years ago taught me that. I had to admit that milk chocolate hit the mark there. Also, the Hershey Nuggets with Extra Creamy Milk Chocolate with Toffee & Almonds – a marriage made in heaven, and I’m really not a Hershey’s fan normally.
