My Camera Shy Mother

Since my own (camera shy) mother is gone, I always feel a pang or two as the rest of the world goes right on celebrating Mothers Day. But why not, I tell myself – it’s important to celebrate with Mom while you still can, and I still get to think of my own with thanks. So, all you fathers (or S.O.s) and kids, time to work on that breakfast in bed menu – those eggs don’t just scramble themselves!

Agricola Community Eatery: Celebrate brunch or dinner at Agricola, information & menus are here.

The Brothers Moon: Just a few spots left for brunch on Mothers Day, the prix fixe menu is here.

Catherine Lombardi/Stage Left: Brunch and dinner offered at Stage Left; Open Early for Dinner at Catherine Lombardi (1 PM to 9 PM)

The Frog & The Peach: They’re doing a three-course prix fixe menu from Noon to 7:00pm, $70 adults, $16 for kids under 12.

Il Forno: This West Windsor spot has a special Mothers Day brunch menu, 10am-2:30pm, and then serves dinner 5-9pm.

MistralTheir chefs will be preparing a three-course brunch or four-course dinner, featuring fresh, local ingredients and culturally influenced flavors. 

One 53: This Rocky Hill restaurant will open early for dinner, at 3:00pm on Mothers Day, with a complimentary glass of bubbly for Mom and special menu items.

Peony Pavilion: The restaurant is offering a special Mothers Day menu with four courses: appetizers, entree, dessert, and a presentation of special Asian teas. The cost is $40.

Rocky Hill Inn:  They’re open 1 – 6pm, serving their new dinner menu plus a number of specials.  Reservations recommended.

Seasons 52: Of course, this popular new spot at MarketFair Mall is open for lunch and dinner. But be sure to reserve, they get very booked up, and waits can be quite long. (Remember they are in Bridgewater now too!)

The Tiger’s Tale: They’re offering a buffet brunch between 9am and 3pm. Adults $24.99, Seniors (60+) $18.99, Kids under 10, $10.99. There’s also a full a la carte menu with many specials throughout the day, including rack of lamb, filet, lobster and more.

Tre Piani: 12 pm – 6pm, Treat Mom to a free flower and a full a la carte menu with special Mother’s Day additions. Kids Menu for 12-year-olds and under $12.95, kids 5-year-old and under eat free.

Yankee Doodle Tap Room: At the Nassau Inn (and remember the pretty patio), you can share a meal with some of the famous mothers whose photos are on the walls. They even made a video to entice you to come in, and here it is:
