How perfect is this? Taste of the Nation Princeton’s annual benefit to end childhood hunger will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at The Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village. You can purchase discounted tickets as a holiday gift until December 31, and start helping local organizations fight hunger now.
Over 40 of the area’s best restaurants and vineyards will offer tasty samplings at the gourmet event, now in its 17th year. New in 2009 will be cooking demonstrations throughout the evening.
One hundred percent of your ticket price goes to the beneficiaries, mostly to HomeFront, Isles, Inc., Mercer Street Friends, and the Food Bank of South Jersey.
Visit Share our Strength’s website for more information about Taste and SOS’s other programs to end childhood hunger. It’s a great organization!
I worked on this event, which takes place all over the country each spring, myself for many years, and even chaired it twice. Taste was the “original” gourmet tasting event nationwide, enlisting chefs to share their strengths to benefit their local communities.
Now through December 31, tickets are $75 vs. $85 (or even $95 at the door). Purchase tickets on line and enter the discount code HOL or call 800-969-4767.
So give the gift that gives twice, a wonderful evening for a friend or family member and a substantial donation to local hunger causes.
