I am so smitten with the Lake Champlain Chocolates 5-Star Chocolate bars. This is my favorite, fruit and nuts enrobed in dark chocolate. I’m not usually a fan of dark raisins, but don’t mind them here. The website describes the bar as “Tart cherries, pecans, and raisins (unsulfured) in an all-natural hazelnut praline center, covered in dark chocolate.”
I discovered them in Whole Foods some time ago, and now have to be careful to not linger in their extensive candy aisle too long.
I am in the middle of reading the book “Candy Freak, a Journey Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America,” by Steve Almond (what are the chances…), and he raves about them too, although they are more “high-end” than most of the treats he writes so lovingly about.
