Don’t know when I might get there myself, but a new place that sounds interesting has opened in Trenton, a Portuguese charcoal grill BBQ spot, named Chi-Chi’s BBQ, on 13 E. Front Street. Aimed, I would guess, at downtown office workers, they are open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. Their phone is 609-392-3123. Could it be that we’re going to have a churrasqueira nearby? If you go, let me know what you think!
On 10/2/09 I bought the whole entree consisting of chicken, shrimp, and sausage, served with fries and rice and ChiChi’s sauce. While the food tasted good, I didn’t like the preparation or portion, as compared to other Portuguese restaurants at which I have eaten. As for the preparation, I didn’t like the chick cut up into small pieces. And the portion, the “whole” at ChiChi’s would be considered a half at other Portuguese restaurants. The presentation ultimately seemed more like a jambalaya. I’m on the fence as to whether I would go back.
