This is my favorite salad of the moment, based on the house salad at DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies in the Washington Town Center, Robbinsville. Usually it’s made with spring mix, but I had arugula at home, which went quite well with the fruit-nut story. Theirs has slices of apple, but I usually just throw in dried cranberries. Some glazed walnuts, white balsamic vinegar (quite different from the red!), olive oil, and I’m all set. Salad is one of those areas where I go against the tide. I’m not a rabbit. I can only eat so many raw greens. In winter, I’m even less interested. But this is one salad where I always clean the bowl, every last bite!
