Welcome to the grilling season!
The Rocky Hill Inn Eatery & Tavern has a special Bubbly Q promotion this month, and it’s a great idea for a casual weeknight.
Each Tuesday/Wednesday, a special grilled or barbecued dish is featured at dinner, and for $20.10 (get it?) it comes with a glass of selected Champagne, sparkling wine, or craft beer.
Here’s the schedule:
June 8 & 9-Carolina BBQ Pork Butt with Grilled New Potato Salad with Bacon and Buttermilk Dressing, Carolina Vinegar Slaw.
June 15 & 16-East Meets West Ribs with Soba Noodle Salad with Sesame Ginger Dressing.
June 22 & 23- Spice Rubbed Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Beer Battered Onion Rings and Grilled Asparagus.
June 29 & 30-BBQ Chicken with Cuban Style Corn on the Cob, Scallion Mashed Potatoes
The other night, they treated me to the pulled pork sandwich you see pictured here, from the regular Tavern menu (a mere $10). The vinegar slaw was piled on top of the pork, and the brioche bun had absorbed all those tasty juices…well, you get the idea. Before this my friend and I tried their calamari, with a sweet/sour sauce – that was the best calamari I’ve had in ages! The Bubbly Q dish of the evening, which my friend ordered, was grilled/blackened tilapia, with a nice corn/black bean salsa and tasty sweet potato fries. Good food and friendly staff combine nicely here, and you can even sit out on the porch if you like, and watch the world go by.

I agree; the Rocky Hill Inn is the ‘best kept secret’ in the Princeton area. Great food at fabulous prices. The Tilapia alone, at comparable Princeton restaurants, runs $22 to $26 so dinner & wine or beer for $20.10 is phenomenal.
