Cheap Eats
I am getting on my bandwagon today, because this topic just keeps hitting me in the face lately. I’ve read a few of the books out there about the true cost of cheap food, and cheap products in general. Like so many things that seem wonderful at first glance, that “too good to be true” … Continue reading

On behalf of legions of diners, we beg you to start printing your specials, and with prices. I actually had one restaurateur … Continue reading
Holiday Gallery
It was great to do some cooking over the holidays! Here’s a photo roundup of some of the things I enjoyed. Note that I did not make the Panforte myself, that was from Bon Appétit, ditto Baked Alaska from Trader Joe’s (too cute to pass up).
Lunch at Mediterra
Shortly before holidays, I enjoyed an excellent staff lunch with my University colleagues at Mediterra. They worked up a prix fixe menu for us, based on some of the dishes from the dinner menu, and did a wonderful job. Here you see my Verlasso Salmon (a sustainably raised salmon), with tri-color caulaiflower and Swiss chard; it … Continue reading
