Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Cookbook coverHappy Chinese New Year!

I’ve written and blogged about my dear friend Angela Chang for years, most recently after the delicious New Year’s Eve dinner we shared just a few short weeks ago.

Here’s your chance to meet her and discover her cookbook, The Intriguing World of Chinese Home Cooking.  She’ll be at Chicklet Books in the Princeton Shopping Center on Thursday, January 29, 2:00-4:00pm, discussing the customs and symbolic foods of the Chinese New Year.  (The year of the Ox starts Monday.)  She’ll also give tips on shopping in Asian markets and ordering at Chinese restaurants.  You know those interesting dishes you see other people eating and don’t know how to ask for?  I find that so frustrating, but there is hope, as more Chinese restaurants are realizing that we Westerners have expanding tastes and want to try some new things (my next post will highlight a couple of those restaurants).

And there will be dishes to sample, and of course cookbooks you can have personalized for sale.

If you’re not office bound weekdays, swing by Chicklet and tell Angela Faith sent you!
