With thanks to Princeton Public Library’s Janie Hermann, here is the link for the photos from the Crazy For Cookbooks event at the Princeton Public Library earlier this month at which panelists, including area food writers, chefs and publishers, discussed what makes a good cookbook and revealed their personal favorites. The panel included Yours Truly; Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton, co-founders/creators of “Canal House Cooking” and the daily blog, “Canal House Cooks Lunch”; Alex Levine, Chef at Princeton’s Whole Earth Center and bibliophile; and Pat Tanner, longtime NJ food writer, restaurant critic, and blogger. Moderated by Rachel Weston, culinary educator and and author of New Jersey Fresh: Four seasons from Farm to Table.
After our discussion we took questions and answers, and then, while authors signed books, Ms. Hermann took photos of some of the panelists and several enthusiastic audience members holding up their favorite cookbooks (or a description of their favorite) in front of a special media board she’d prepared for the occasion. Ms. Hermann’s own favorite? Well, it’s really a series, the Best of Bridge, from Canada, her birthplace. Check out that link to read their heartwarming story!
